Reawakening
Eyitemi Egwuenu

  Amber ascends,silver wanes
  Loneful thoughts,a star and me.
  A whiff of morn,a speckled sky,
  A conquered breast,eye upturned
  In worship,in kinship
  With ripening day.

  Ride your chariot
  Up the blue prairie,
  Rein our hearts
  With threads of gold;
  Unerring steeds
  That lead to Selene.

  Sweet motions that smile
  At this rebirth,
  Waiting for dumbness
  To voice its heart;
  Sail the draft,
  Ambrosia your lips;
  A kiss to lift
  This drooping bud.
