When he first told me what was wrong I cried inside.
I had to be strong on the outside for him
The memories of before came back of how I felt before.
Life really does repeat itself.
I felt that I would lose him like so many before
Then I realised no matter how much I loved him
He would never be mine.
He would always be hers, no matter what.
Even when I was close to him he was distant
It must have been the cancer that was eating him
He didn't realise that it was eating me too.
I felt that I was a part of him now.
We grew close over the time we spent
He tried to keep me at arms length
But I always kept him in my heart.
So would she and that hurt.
She still doesn't know that I loved him,
And I hope that she never finds out.
I remember I gave him a rose once he kissed me on my cheek
That kiss meant more to me than anything
It was a simple kiss that showed how he felt.
He loved me but he couldn't say
His heart was mine!
I would love to say that things worked out fine
Or even that he died and she never got him either
I am not trying to be evil, I am just jealous
The truth is she is still with him and that hurts.
When he told me he would stay with her I cried inside
I had to be strong on the outside for me.
The memories of before came back of how I felt before.
Life really does repeat itself.
